Terms of Service

Welcome to aicheckr.io. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are the agreement between you and the operator of aicheckr.io ("AI Checker," "we," or "us") covering your use of the website and its tools — the AI content checker, humanizer, citation verification, hallucination detector, summarizer and related writing tools (together, the "Service"). Creating an account or using the Service means you accept these Terms; if you don't accept them, please don't use the Service.

1. What the Service is (and isn't)

The Service runs automated, statistical analysis over text you provide and returns estimates, rewrites, and checks. Everything the Service outputs — scores, highlights, classifications, rewrites, verification results — is informational. It is not professional, academic, legal, or disciplinary advice, and it is never a definitive finding about how a piece of text was written.

2. Detection results are estimates

By using the Service you acknowledge that:

  • No AI detector — ours included — is perfectly accurate. Results can include false positives (human writing scored as AI) and false negatives (AI writing scored as human).
  • Accuracy shifts with the length, language, subject, and editing history of a text. Short passages and blended human/AI text are the hardest cases.
  • A score is a probability signal, not evidence that a specific person did or didn't use AI.
  • Both AI models and detection techniques evolve constantly, so the same text can score differently at different times. We don't promise consistency between runs.

3. Decisions stay with you

Never treat a Service result as the sole basis for a decision that affects a person — a grade, an academic-integrity finding, an admission, a hire, a termination, or anything comparable. Such decisions require your own judgment and independent corroboration. You are responsible for how you interpret and act on output from the Service, and we accept no responsibility for decisions you or anyone else makes in reliance on it.

4. Your account

You must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent where you live) to use the Service. Sign-in is handled through Google via our authentication provider; you are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.

5. Fair use

When using the Service you agree not to:

  • use results to accuse, harass, or defame anyone;
  • submit text you have no right to submit, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • probe, scrape, overload, or bypass rate limits, credit limits, or security measures;
  • resell the Service or use it to build a competing product without our written consent;
  • use the Service in ways that break applicable law.

We may throttle, suspend, or close accounts that violate these rules or that put the Service or other users at risk.

6. Text and content you submit

You keep ownership of everything you paste or upload. You give us a limited license to process and transmit that content solely to run the tools you invoke and to operate, secure, and improve the Service. Producing a result may involve sending your text to third-party AI and infrastructure providers working on our behalf — our Privacy Policy explains how that works and what is (and isn't) retained.

7. Plans, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe, our payment processor, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page — cancellation stops all future charges immediately and your paid features remain active until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling never requires contacting support and is independent of any refund. Prices and plan contents may change with reasonable advance notice.

7.1 Refund policy

You may request a refund of a subscription charge on these conditions:

  • First charge: the request is made within seven (7) calendar days of the payment; and
  • Renewal charges: the request is made within three (3) calendar days of the payment; and
  • in either case, you have made fewer than three (3) uses of the paid tools since that charge. A "use" is any credit-consuming action — a detection scan, humanization, citation check, or similar tool run.

We assess eligibility from our payment and usage records. Outside these windows and conditions, charges are non-refundable except where the law of your jurisdiction requires otherwise. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and can take a few business days to appear.

To request one, use "Request a refund" on the Support page or in your account's Subscription tab, or email [email protected] from your account address. We reply to every request, normally within one business day.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service — its software, design, models, and content other than what you submit — belongs to us or our licensors. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use it under these Terms; no other rights are granted.

9. No warranties

THE SERVICE AND ITS OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION OR THAT ANY RESULT IS CORRECT OR COMPLETE.

10. Limits on our liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ITS OUTPUT — EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IS CAPPED AT THE GREATER OF (A) WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) USD $50.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your content, your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or decisions you make based on Service output.

12. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service whenever you like, and delete your account from the account settings. We may suspend or end access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated or the Service is being harmed. Provisions that should outlive termination (such as Sections 9–11) survive it.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms as the Service evolves. When we do, we update the date at the top and, for material changes, give additional notice where appropriate. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
